The 64-Year-Old Macallan Single-Malt Whiskey is currently the world’s most expensive whiskey, that has been sold at auction for a record-breaking $460,000 at Sotheby’s in New York City just recently. Aside from being the most expensive, its also the rarest that the brand has ever released since 1824. It’s in a Lalique crystal decanter that was made using the “cire perdue” or “lost wax” method. The whiskey is stored in Spanish sherry casks since World War II. It has 42.5% alcohol level, which is just above the regular Scotch whiskey.
