Host the Perfect Poker Night

Poker night can offer a great excuse to get everyone together and enjoy a playing this classic game. However, if you want your poker night to go off without a hitch, then it can be a good idea to do a little bit of planning beforehand. Here are a few hints and tips for how to throw the perfect poker night.
Firstly, you will want to make sure you have enough guests attending to get a good game going. Ideally, you will need at least six players, although too many guests can mean that the table becomes crowded and the game will be much slower. You will also need to make sure that everyone knows what type of poker you are planning to play. Texas Holdem is the most common game, but with sites such as Partypoker offering a number of variations, some players may be more used to playing other types of game. If you have any new players to your table, it can be a good idea to recap any game rules which other guests may be more used to, such as the stakes.
As poker night is usually a social occasion, you may also want to make sure that you are able to offer your guests both food and drink. This needn’t be a formal meal, and in fact such dishes are usually deemed inappropriate. Instead, opt for finger foods and snacks, and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Ideally, you will want to have a round table which everyone can sit round in order to play, and enough chairs for all your guests. If you can get your hands on a stretch of green baize cloth to play on, then this can help to give your game more of an authentic casino feel, which will help to create a great atmosphere.
