The Silver Fund is the largest dealer worldwide in estate of Georg Jensen silver. In addition
to comprehensive collection of Georg Jensen holloware, inventory includes exceptional 20th
century silver designed by Jean Puiforicat, William Spratling, Antonio Pineda, and many other
great 20th century designers.
“George Jensen in unrivaled as the ‘father of Scandinavian Silver’, and he’s one of the greats of the 20th century,” says Michael James, the owner of the American branch London silver gallery,
at 472 Jackson Street, just a block from Gold Alley, where forty-niner’s gold dust was assayed. In the back area the Silver Fund displays hundreds of work by the pioneering Danish silversmith Georg Jensen; French silversmith Jean E. Puiforcat; William Spratling, who revived silversmithing in Taxco, Mexico; and modernist Mexican jewelry designer Antonio Pineda.
Jensen’s silver is more spare, with distinctive matte finish, than the other artists of the day. Inspired by nature, Jensen highlighted his elegant work with subtle designs incorporating acorns, berries, leaves, and clusters of grapes, which became his signature motif. Everything was handmade.
The Silver Fund has helped put together outstanding exhibitions, including ‘Georg Jensen Jewelry’ at the Bard Graduate Center in New York City. The exhibition was the largest jewelry retrospective ever presented. Silver Fund also exhibit art and antique fairs in New York, Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Dallas, Chicago, and San Francisco. They have exhibited also at major events including the prestigious Grosvenor House Art and Antiques Fiar in London as well as fairs in Germany, Switzerland, France, and Italy.
